STORIES: A Classroom-based Program to Reduce Aggressive Behavior Journal of School Psychology; v39 n1 p71-94 Jan-Feb 2001 by Hedwig Teglasi and Lee Rothman Keywords: elementary school, classroom behavior, peer group influence, storytelling techniques, critical thinking, teacher education ABSTRACT Discusses the 15-session Structure/Themes/Open Communication/Reflection/ Individuality/Experiential Learning/ Social-Problem-Solving (STORIES) program, which uses the peer group and story form as vehicles to improve social problem solving for aggressors, victims, and bystanders. Post-intervention reports show decreases in externalizing and antisocial behaviors for children not identified as aggressive, and increases for the identified children.
